Justin and I saw My Name is Rachel Corrie at Hart House on Wednesday night. And if you only see one show this weekend this should be it.
In addition to creative staging and direction Rachel Corrie is supremely well acted by Amelia Sargisson.
A one woman show about a young activist who is killed in Palestine is a tough sell, and I was especially curious to see how they would deal with her death. I think audiences will appreciate that this is not a political piece, although there is a lot of politics behind the story. It is fundamentally a human story.
The show does drag in places, but at 90 minutes without intermission it is a tidy affair, and well worth seeing. The show only runs tonight and tomorrow. So hurry to Hart House. Click here for ticket information.
