Despite recently recording their one millionth audience member for
Jersey Boys, and the back-to-back runs of
Miss Siagon and
South Pacific at the Four Seasons Centre Dancap Productions has recently let go of over thirty employes, perhaps half their staff. Acording to the
Globe, most of those getting the axe are members of the Dancap sales team, since there is currently nothing to sell beyond August. With
Jersey Boys closing and limit engagments on the touring productions the Dancap team appear to be coming to the end of the line, and running out of track fast. It isn't all bad news though for Toronto's second most important production company. According to publisist Carrie Sager, the company is getting back to its core team to focus on bringing a fantastic new season, next year. No word yet on when that season might be announced.
